Three Ingredient Mac Cheese

Shavuot is clearly the season of sharing.

A generous-spirited customer shared this miraculous mac 'n cheese recipe with me, I shared it with several customers and friends, who in turn delightedly passed it on.

With all this sharing going on, it seems only fair that I share it with ALL of Meatland's loyal customers, because that's what virtual friends do.

It's not for nothing that I chose the adjective 'miraculous' to describe this dish as it really IS amazing that it takes so little effort, and so few ingredients, to produce a consistently great, family-friendly result.


400 grams elbow noodles
200 grams cheddar cheese, grated
2 tablespoons butter
1 x Carnation evaporated milk
Salt and pepper

1: Preheat oven to 180 C, boil pasta in salted water until al dente and drain well.
2: Spoon 1/4 of the pasta into a medium-sized, greased baking dish, cover with grated cheese, dot with butter, and season lightly with salt and pepper. 
3: Repeat layering of pasta, cheese, butter and seasoning 3 times, then pour evaporated milk evenly over the whole dish, and bake uncovered for approximately 50 minutes till golden

COOK'S NOTES: Dish serves approximately 6. Carnation evaporated milk is available at Meatlandand should not be confused with sweetened condensed milk.
